Our Curriculum Offer

Broad and Balanced

Our curriculum offer supports luton’s vision of reducing deprivation and preparing young people for education, training, and employment.

We combine academic progress with emotional intelligence to build confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour for learning.

Our aim is to remove barriers to learning and prepare every student for their next stage of education, training, or employment.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Emotional intelligence is embedded across all Key Stages and is a central part of both our curriculum and pastoral offer. It supports students to become both school-ready and society-ready, alongside their academic progress. Through structured teaching, targeted workshops, and real-life learning experiences, students develop understanding and skills across the five strands of emotional intelligence.

Self-Awareness

Understanding emotions, strengths, areas for development, and personal values, and recognising how these influence behaviour, learning, and relationships.

Self-Regulation

Developing the ability to manage emotions, control impulses, and respond appropriately in different situations.

Motivation

Building resilience, perseverance, and internal drive to set and achieve academic and personal goals.

Empathy

Recognising and understanding the feelings, needs, and perspectives of others, and responding with respect and care.

Social Skills

Developing effective communication, positive relationships, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills.

This framework is consistently reinforced across teaching, pastoral support, and behaviour systems to ensure emotional intelligence is developed in a structured and meaningful way for all students.
Where appropriate, elements of this programme can also be mapped to recognised accredited qualifications or personal development awards, supporting students to achieve formal recognition of their skills and progress.
